The coaching experience helped me a lot in my pastoral work. One of the things I learned is “listening and asking good questions.” Before the coaching, I used to talk a lot to counselees when they come to me for counseling quoting the Bible to them so much and almost giving them no room to participate in how to find a solution to their challenges. With the coaching, I learned that first, you need to ask good questions to understand what really is the issue because most of the time, the issue is vague or broad and if the issue is not clear and specific, the conversation will be vague and it won’t really help the client.
